TEXTURE TUESDAY

The first Texture Tuesday of a new year and I'm already behind..... not my fault the fault of a bad virus that really hit me for six....

"The theme for this week is 'cuppa'.... I've been sharing a lot of tea & coffee photos lately... I'd love to see one of yours.
The only requirement - your image must contain at at least one layer of any of my textures. That's it, that's all."
I love cups and mugs I have a large collection and thanks to Kim's influence it has grown lol.....
So here is my offering, quite fun actually I wanted to see how much processing I could do on my iPad.
  • I used my big girl's camera to take the shot
  • Loaded the photo onto the desktop of my computer then using Photo Transfer app, I know it's a bit pricey but believe me it's worth every penny...I transferred the photo plus others on to my iPad mini.
  • Some adjustments in Snapseed, another top favourite.
  • Then the magic, using Blender app I blended 2 of Kim's textures from the  ultimate bundle collection I blended, saved, closed, reopened added another texture and blended .....cool....
  • At this point I probably could have stopped but I wanted to add a couple more things so using the photo transfer app I popped the photo back into Photoshop where I added 1301 (going to be a favourite) a brush of text (shadowhouse creations ) a great resource for us artists.
  • Finally a quote I love quotes and this one really called out to me from A Year with Rilke January 15 ~ Letters to a Young Poet written in 1903. It is called Through All That Happens. The font I used was KG Somebody I used to Know.

As you unfold as an artist, just keep on, quietly and earnestly, growing through all that happens to you. You cannot disrupt this process more violently than by looking outside yourself for answers that may only be found by attending to your innermost feeling'

I find that passage so moving it gives me peace don't ask me why it's just the sort feelingI get when I walk into a Cathedral or a magnificent church ......
How does it affect you ? .....

  3. "growing through all that happens to you", good and bad, shapes who we are. Instead of letting things just pass through me, I like when they sit awhile before leaving. Lovely quote and your photo and edit is beautiful.

  4. Fabulous! Love the Rilke quote too - I understand just what you mean about the peace it gives you (and love how you describe it). Thank you for the recipe too - especially the tip about the photo transfer app. I was wondering how to get my photos on to my ipad!
